I develop software and cycling has long been part of my life. I ride roughly 20,000 km a year and have over 220,000 km logged on Strava. I have ridden more than ten road bikes from brands such as Specialized, Orbea, BMC, Canyon and De Rosa, and I am on the bike almost every day.

I have had several bike fittings, so I know how much a well-set-up position can change comfort, efficiency and the overall feel of riding. At the same time I wanted a tool that not only shows a cyclist the problem, but also explains clearly what to change and why.

That is where ComfiVelo comes from: a combination of my experience in cycling and in software development, with the aim of making position analysis available to more cyclists.

What is behind it

ComfiVelo combines the two things I do: software development and riding a bike. From my own experience I know how much position matters and how hard it is to set up by guessing.

Why ComfiVelo

A professional bike fit is great, but it is not always at hand and it costs money. The app should give everyone a clear starting point, and give shops and rental companies a quick helper tool.

How the rules are made

The angle ranges are based on the professional literature. I have studied various studies and the recommendations of respected fitters and turn them into clear rules. I have also added my own long experience of tuning position, gained over tens of thousands of kilometres and on many bikes. Where something is my experience rather than a study, I say so in the text. For values that are weakly supported, the app says so directly. I will gladly tune them with the experience of professionals.
